Please don't let his breed put you off. He's a lovely horse with plenty to give, with the right patient rider i have no doubt he will go on to do great things.

Ajay is a 9yr old 15.3 ½hh Standardbred that finished his pacing career on the 1st of March this year. I took him straight off the track as my first Standardbred project horse and since then I’ve have had a blast breaking him into saddle and re-training him. He has big movement with his trot is quite established. His canter is improving however definitely requires more work especially on the left rein.

He has had lessons with Les Bunning and has also had a few competition outings in dressage, hacking and eventing recently winning the 65cm Eventing Grand Prix in Albany and followed up with a win in the 65cm class at Wallangarra ODE finishing on his dressage score and receiving some lovely comments throughout the day. He loves his jumping and is very bold towards the fences. He can be hard to steer but he is always improving. He’s training around 80cm SJ and XC but has jumped up to 95cm with scope to go higher, showing great technique with a very clean back end.

He has the most beautiful nature and is truly a joy to take wherever you want to go, will tie up by the float all day and just generally loves people. He is a good doer and is easy to catch, trim, float and worm. He is a forward and quite sensitive horse that can become nervous when ridden in a new/competition environment and become tense however I believe this will only improve with more outings as he’s not long been broken to saddle.

He’s great to take to the beach, loves going on trails and is fine going out alone. Can be paddocked alone or with company with no issues and is also easy to stable. I don’t feel he would be suited to beginners/nervous riders as he is still green and learning. He would be best suited to an experienced rider for now until he has more education under his belt.

Very hard sale so please only genuine enquiries only. He is only for sale because of time restraints and wanting to travel in the near future. Realistically priced at $1600 however i just want him to go to a loving home so price is negotiable to the perfect home.
