2* eventer "Lets Fantastica"Horses - 35 Brolga Ct, Nyora VIC 3987 -
Sofie AKA “Lets Fantastica” is a lovely 16.1 approx Warmblood mare by Lets Kiss n Tell and out of Lets Donamaze. DOB 30/10/10Experience and TemperamentSofie is a very attractive mare, with her super dark colouring and modern athleticism. She is super experienced and has competed up to 2* eventing level with many eventing starts on the board and placings along the way. Besides her abundant success as a versatile performance horse, she is also a very reliable, and safe mount to ride around generally. She loves hacking out, and road rides with no issues at traffic or machinery and has had lots of exposure to various things while out and about. She has exceptional ground manners both at home and at shows (except the occasional little girthyness). She will stand tied at the float all day and is a dream to take out to competitions. She has been very happy and settled in the stables, day yards, tie-ups and paddock and doesn’t seem to mind where she is or what horsey friends are around her. She is very relaxed, and makes you feel very safe when you are handling her and when you are on board! Paces Sofie has good, regular paces with a good active walk with clear over-track, a balanced trot with good swing and a rhythmic, comfortable canter. Dressage TrainingRhythm - Sofie can be a little lazy at times, she is a very relaxed and easy going horse, and isn’t in much of a hurry to go anywhere! Saying this, with a few gentle reminders she will get going, and can feel really forward. She is happy to cruise along in a rhythm, and won’t speed off when you soften the reins. Suppleness & Contact - Sofie likes to sit in an uphill frame but can be a little rigid in the contact, however I find to get the best out of her we need to really supple her in the warm up and encourage her to lower from the base of her neck using changes of flexions, little turns and half-halts. Once she lets go of her back and starts to bend she is much easier to keep in a consistently soft frame. She responds very well to the seat, so the sitting trot is great to help get her feeling a bit more through and connected. She is steady in the hand, she just needs to stay soft in the jaw to give you her best floaty feeling of elasticity that she is capable of. Impulsion & Straightness - Sofie understands the half-halt but due to her occasional laziness she does need some reminders to activate her hind leg and step quicker behind to shift some off the weight off the forehand and onto the hind leg. Once she is sharp here, she tries really hard although is still a little weak at times. With further consistent and targeted work on this shift of balance, and hind leg activity I think she will continue to improve here and her dressage scores will sky rocket. Laterals - Sofie is currently working at around a novice level on the flat. She has established basic laterals and is obedient in these movements although could have more suppleness at times. JumpingSofie is excellent to jump. She is extremely honest and loves her job. She is very brave, and willing to give anything a crack. She ticks along a in a rhythm mostly but if anything we have found she tends to need to be ridden forward to a fence, rather than getting hot. Saying this, she still feels very confident, and gives her rider confidence. She has good technique, a good ground cover - both valuable assets for when she’s out on cross country. She has been jumping a variety of cross country and show jumping fences up to 130 cm here with Ben and has been a pleasure. She is not a world-beater jumper but absolutely a fun, safe ride sure to help you build up your jumping confidence and put a smile on your face! Rider Suitability Sofie presents a rare opportunity to secure an allrounder schoolmistress who is also just a genuinely delightful horse to ride around and handle. I feel like there isn’t much you wouldn’t be able to do with this lovely lady, we have found her to be pretty much unflappable. Due to her awesome temperament, we visualise her making a young rider very happy at pony club doing a bit of everything with ambitions to move up the eventing levels. Although she is super safe and reliable, she is not the easiest dressage ride, but she absolutely makes up for this in other areas and she will certainly teach an ambitious junior how to ride and train properly on the flat. She is a very fun horse, and is going to absolutely be adored by her new human when she finds her match. She is super loveable, with a lot to offer and a really big heart! Located Nyora, VIC.
